School is almost out! It’s time for fun in the sun at the park or at the pool. But wait! Summer also means free time to get things done that you may not be able to fit in during the hectic school year. This is a great time to see your children’s dentist in Scarborough for your child’s regular cleaning and check-up appointment. Why not schedule right away so you can focus the rest of the summer on fun?
Preventative Dentistry for Children
At White Willow Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Samantha Amaro and her team understand the importance of making every visit fun and upbeat for our smallest patients. Setting the tone during the very first dental visit with a relaxed and positive environment, we take the time to educate your child about their oral health while guiding them through preventative and treatment procedures. Our goal is for your child to look forward to their dental appointments!
During our cleaning appointments our hygienists will teach your child proper brushing and flossing techniques so they can successfully brush and floss at home. We always take the time to explain first what we’re doing and why we need to do it, so you’re child understands what’s happening during their appointments, and they feel at ease.
Advanced Services for Children
We offer additional services for our youngest patients that will help them “build” and protect their teeth. Fluoride treatments help to build and strengthen small teeth and enamel, while dental sealants are thin coating designed to protect the surfaces of your child’s molars from tooth decay.
If your child participates in sports, Dr. Amaro can recommend and design a sports guard to protect their developing smile. Did you know that sports are the cause of approximately 40% of dental injuries? The mouth guards that we create are custom designed to fit your child’s teeth and offer much better protection than the generic options found at the sporting goods store.
At White Willow Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, your child’s comfort is our top priority. We want to be your partners in teaching your child about the importance of good oral health and regular dental visits so they will be set up for a lifetime of success at the dental office. Contact our office today to schedule your child’s summer check-up.
